HARD ROCK CAFE MELAKA TO OPEN AT END JANUARY 2013

Finally, the Hard Rock cafe in Melaka will open at end January, just in time for Chinese New Year in early February. Located besides the Melaka river and opposite the Stadthuys, her opening will enhance Melaka as a tourist destination.

The Melaka River Walk will be boosted when the cafe open for business. Hopefully more investors will see the potential of Melaka River Walk and add more interesting restaurants and F and B outlets and make it another vibrant attraction to visitors.

RIVERBANK MUSIC CAFE IN MELAKA

Another F & B outlet named Riverbank Music Cafe has opened on the banks of Melaka River. Slowly but surely, more and more F & B outlets are opening up here besides Hard Rock Cafe in 2013.

The next big thing in Melaka will be activities besides the Melaka River as more investors see the potential of the Melaka River Walk. At the same time, Melaka River at night is very romantic and colourful.

HARD ROCK CAFE @ MELAKA RIVER TO OPEN IN 2013

Hard Rock Cafe, Melaka which is being constructed besides the Melaka River opposite Stadhuys, will open her doors to the public in early 2013. Internal works and finishing touches are being carried out in feverish pace before her opening.

Once Hard Rock Cafe opens, visitors and locals can have another famous outlet to relax and enjoy themselves. It will make the Melaka Riverwalk more vibrant in the future.

WALL FOUNDATIONS OF MELAKA FORT BEING EXCAVATED

Due to the discovery of the old Melaka forteress wall besides the Melaka River carpark, excavation works are currently being done. Red laterite blocks that form her foundations can be seen. This find is very encouraging to the historical past of Melaka where there was a wall surrounding the administrative centre of Malacca.

The British demolished the surrounding walls of Malacca by explosive gunpowder under Farquhar so as to destroy the defensive fortified walls forever. When Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, was recuperating in Malacca from the swampy conditions in Singapore then, he strongly objected to this demolition. He wrote a formal letter of protest against this to Lord Minto, Viceroy at British India in 1800s.

Due to Raffles intervention, the total demolition of Malacca fort was stopped. Unfortunately, only A Famosa was saved which we can see today.
